ORIGINAL "FEATHERS OF GOLD" PAINTING 105 X 35 X 7
An original painting inspired by the feathers of a swan, an absolutely gorgeous animal whose elegance I aimed to capture. During the creation process of this piece, I originally thought to add crushed glass. However, the larger strokes of gold leaf did it justice and finished it off perfectly.
I can see this one-of-a-kind piece looking stunning above a darker dramatic hallway sideboard, or above a light and airy main bedroom space. That is the exciting thing about creating interior artwork, you never know where it will be placed.
I handcrafted the frame to custom fit the 3.6cm box canvas, used a router on the inner edge and sunk the canvas down to create a shadowing edge - complete with hand painting it charcoal grey and finishing with a hard-wearing satin varnish
With all my paintings they are finished with a professional strong hold permanent varnish to seal and protect the piece from dirt, dust and UV damage. Despite this, it is still recommended to resist handling the piece and to avoid hanging in direct sunlight.
